Before you sign up, take a moment to consider a few basic questions about your business. DepositNow has several optional features, so depending on your computer system and on how many checks you take in, one version may be particularly suited to you. You may also want to consult our brief guide to Choosing a Scanner.
For a list of important criteria for choosing a version, scroll to the bottom of this page.
How many checks does your business take in on a typical day?
If you handle fewer than 50 checks a day, any of our three systems should be fine. For higher volumes, we recommend DepositNow in offline mode, which lets you scan multiple checks in a row and upload them all at once. To learn more about the speed of each check scanner, see our Choosing a Scanner guide.
How many people have access to your computer?
If security is a concern for you, our standard DepositNow system is recommended. Because the main DepositNow program resides on our server, not your machine, no one will have access to the program without logging in, and sensitive data and check images are not stored on your computer. This may be helpful if several people have access to your main computer, or if your financial information is on a laptop computer that sometimes leaves the office.
Do you use QuickBooks® or Peachtree® to keep your financial records?
If so, DepositNow for QuickBooks or DepositNow for Peachtree will save you a significant amount of time by automatically entering each check in your ledger as you scan it. It also recognizes account numbers and dollar amounts to match checks to invoices.
Do you ever have problems with the speed/reliability of your Internet connection?
If temporary outages or slow loading times are a problem for you, DepositNow offline mode and DepositNow for QuickBooks or Peachtree are recommended. Because you can work offline, you don't have to wait for one check to finish transmitting before you scan the next.
