To start, try looking at our Choosing a Check Scanner Guide for a side-by-side comparison of each model's features. Click here for a downloadable PDF version.
You should ask yourself the following questions when considering a scanner:
How many checks a day will I be depositing?
If you handle a low number of checks, a single-feed scanner should get the job done and be less expensive. For larger volumes, a hopper-fed model will save you time. We've found the tipping point to be about 40-50 checks in a day.
Does my software let me do batch uploads?
If you have to be signed in and connected to a Web server before you scan checks, waiting for your checks to upload one at a time may mean a single-feed scanner will be just as fast as a high-speed model. Check ahead of time to avoid spending too much.
Do I need to hook my scanner up with my office network?
If so, only certain models offer this capability. We've made sure we offer both a high-speed and a single-feed scanner to support this option.
