This is probably the first time you've purchased a check scanner — so what are you looking for? Speed? Price? Versatility? We've put together some guidelines for common situations to help you decide on the right equipment. Compare the capabilities of each scanner with the chart below, or see our list of important questions at the bottom. You may also wish to consult our brief guide about the different versions of DepositNow.

How many checks a day will you need to scan?
If your business takes in less than 50 checks per day, a single-feed machine such as our own DepositNow scanner will probably be adequate. For higher numbers of checks, we recommend the hopper-fed Panini MyVisionX.
Do you need your checks to be physically marked or endorsed?
Some businesses prefer a scanner that will automatically print their name or other information on the back of a check as it's deposited. If you require this capability, we recommend the RDM EC7000i for low numbers of checks and the Panini MyVisionX if you need to scan more than 50 checks a day.
Will you need to scan other things besides just checks? If you plan on also using your check scanner for photos, documents and other media, the DepositNow scanner is the only one that functions as an ordinary full-color scanner with most popular imaging programs for the PC.
Do you need to use the scanner in a network environment?
In certain specific situations, you may want to connect your scanner to your office network via an Ethernet cable. If so, the MagTek Excella is recommended for its built-in network compatibility.
